Why Did Ryan Reynolds Buy Wrexham?

In November 2020, Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and Rob McElhenney (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) completed their takeover of Wrexham AFC, making them the club's first owners since it became fan-owned in 2011.

Their stated mission: bring the club back to the Football League and create compelling content documenting the journey. The result was "Welcome to Wrexham" — a global phenomenon that introduced millions to the passion of Welsh football.
